Fortune Telling Party Game
with Regular Deck of Cards

This is a "fortune-telling" game that really has more to do with the subconscious mind. A copy of "The Meanings of the Cards" will be provided and read by everyone, and then the deck of cards will be mixed face up, so that all the cards are seen.

The idea is that even though the cards will be face down when you select them, your subconscious mind will have already picked up which cards you want to select and where they are in the deck. And if you don't believe that---it's a lot of fun, anyway, and a great way to get everyone loosened up and talking and the party rolling in the right direction!

Explain the concept behind the game. Separate the crowd into groups of two. Explain that there is a reader and client in every group who will switch roles halfway through the game. The readings should remain positive and light, keeping in the spirit of a game rather than a serious reading. However, those who don't want to participate may just listen and watch.

Distribute one deck of playing cards (placing one joker in one of the decks), and one copy of the "Meanings for Each Card", and one copy of the "Directions for "Fortune-telling Card Game" to each group of two people.

Anyone who comes up with the joker in their reading will win the game and will be given the title of "Master of HIs/Her Destiny"! Otherwise, the winner is whoever comes up with the highest card in his/her reading and those people who have matched it, so that there could be a few winners, though probably only one or two.

Also, it's always really fun if there's an actual prize, or even a double prize for getting the Master of His/Her Destiny card! The winner should be announced before the first person leaves the party, as the readings will take different amounts of time.

The cards in order from highest to lowest are:

Ace of Hearts, King of Hearts, Queen of Hearts etc. all the way down to two of hearts.

Next, Ace of Diamonds, King of Diamonds, Queen of Diamonds etc. all the way down to two of Diamonds.

Third, count clubs in the same manner.

Last, count spades in the same manner.

So, that the highest card is Ace of Hearts, and the lowest card is Two of Spades.
